Raiders Undefeated in Regular Season!

The Kelowna Raiders of the Okanagan Extreme Lacrosse League finished their regular season last night by defeating the Kamloops Rattlers 10 to 9 in front of a hot but dedicated bunch of fans at the Kelowna Memorial Arena. Led by Kyle MacLennan , Dave Bannister and a tough defensive squad, the Raiders managed to pull ahead of the fast-breaking Kamloops team in the third period. The Rattlers have been giving the Raiders a challenge every game over the season and this one was no different.

The Rattlers failed to take advantage of their power plays and allowed Kelowna’s defense led by Scott Mazuren, Brody Daft, Darcy Leach, Eli Wood-Sowcroft and Marty McLeod to control the play giving the Raiders some breathing room.

Scoring power came from league leading Kyle MacLennan with three goals and one assist, two goals each from Dave Bannister and Ryan Spring and singles from Geoff Wray, Jared MacLennan and Brody Daft.

Kamloops scoring was led by Conner and Baker with two goals each and singles from both Woldums, McIntosh, Phillips and Lockhart.

Playoffs begin this Monday July 20, at Memorial Arena, 7:30pm, with Kelowna taking on the Vernon Royals in a best of three and Kamloops battling the Armstrong Shamrocks in Kamloops.
