Raiders Advance to Round Two of OKXLL Playoffs

Although the Vernon Royals of the Okanagan Extreme Lacrosse League put up a valiant effort in their game last evening against the Kelowna Raiders, they were unable to take the game away from the League champions. The Raiders won the second game of the best of three series 10 to 8. Vernon had many one and two man advantages due to Kelowna’s sloppy line changes and undisciplined play but were unable to break through solid goaltending from Cam Needham and a determined Kelowna defensive squad. Kelowna’s offence was led by Kyle Tomiye-three goals, Geoff Wray and Ryan Spring each with two goals and singles coming from Jacob Illichmann, Dave Bannister, and Steve Plasko. Captain Pho Heng played his usual solid two way game setting up five of the Raider’s goals.

The Raiders will meet the winner of the Kamloops Rattlers/Armstrong Shamrocks on Monday, 7:30 pm at Kelowna Memorial Arena.
