KELOWNA TAKES GAME ONE OF PLAYOFFS
Fans were treated to a superb playoff game at Kelowna Memorial Arena last evening, as the Raiders won the hard fought match 9 to 6. The Raiders took an early lead in the game and the Kamloops Rattlers were not able to break Kelowna’s tough defence and outstanding goaltending by Cam Needham. Kelowna’s offence was deadly, keeping Kamloops off balance all evening. Jarrett Neigum unleashed flury of goals (4) in the first two periods adding 2A to lead the Raiders. Other Scoring included singles from Jared MacLennan, Ryan Spring, Deryk McPhail, Braden Renner and Kyle MacLennan.
Kamloops scoring was led by sniper Curtis McIntosh 2G, with singles from Chris Phillips, Trent Evans, Brandon Morphy and Nathan Woldum.
Playoff action resumes in Kamloops at Kamloops Memorial Arena, 8PM on Wednesday.

In a hot Memorial Arena, the Kamloops Rattlers took an early lead in the final game of the season, and held on to beat the Raiders for the first time since the Rattlers joined the league two years ago. Kamloops was led by Junior call-ups, Curtis McIntosh 2G, 3A, and Trent Evans 2G. Chris Phillips played a strong game as well, potting 1G and 3A. The speedy Phillips was in on most goals and managed to get under the Raider’s skin all evening. The Raiders scoring was led by veteran Steve Plasko and rookie Jared MacLennan each with 2G and 1A. Rookie Deryk McPhail netted 2G with Pho Heng getting a single. The Raiders pressed hard at the end of the third, pulling goaltender Cam Needham and notching two goals in the final two minutes of the match.
Playoffs start Monday, July 19, here in Kelowna with the same two teams meeting in the best of three series. Game time is 8PM at Memorial arena.
