Kelowna Sr Raiders 9, Vernon Sr. Tigers 4
It was a goaltenders duel at the Kal Tire Place in Vernon last evening until the midpoint of the third period. Both Kelowna goalie Tanner Belsham and Vernon net minder Josh Point made sensational saves to keep the game within a goal until midway through the third when Point had to be replaced due to an injury after taking a couple of hard shots to his mask. At that point the Raiders pulled ahead and never looked back. Cory Seigner and Pho Heng both set up plays and potted goals, Heng getting 2 goals and 5 assists and Seigner 2 goals and 4 assists. Rookie Quentin Harrish had a pair of goals while singles came from Tarrin Davies, Darcy Rhodes and Nick Evans.
For Vernon their scoring was led by Captain Brennan Plante with a pair of goals and singles from Ryan Sarazin and Craig Bigsby.
The Raiders host the Armstrong Shamrocks this coming Friday, May 31 at the Rutland Arena at 8 pm, a game Raiders fans do not want to miss as both teams are pretty well even in the standings.
