Armstrong Shamrocks 9, Kelowna Raiders 2
The Kelowna Raiders’ winning streak came to an abrupt end last night at the Rutland Arena when the visiting Armstrong Shamrocks took an early lead in the game and never looked back, beating the Raiders 9 to 2.
The game stayed close with Armstrong only leading by a goal after the first then Armstrong led by Brett Hawrys 3 goals, scored 6 in the second to take a commanding lead.
Both teams scored 2 in the third but the Raiders were unable to penetrate the Armstrong defence to change things around.
Scoring for Kelowna with singles were Tarrin Davies and Matt Gorges.
For Armstrong it was Brett Hawrys with 4, Steve Clarke with a pair and singles from Joel Castle, Logan Strohm and Jorge Sam.
The Raiders are in action again next Friday, June 7 at the Rutland Arena when the host the Vernon Tigers at 8 pm.
