Raiders Squeak Past Shamrocks
The Kelowna Raiders got a scare from the Arstrong Shamrocks last night in OXLL action at the Armstrong arena. After dominating most of the game with help from Kelownas latest free agent signing Scott Mazuren, the Raiders played a sloppy 3rd period allowing the Shamrocks to score 4 unanswered goals in the third taking the Raiders to double overtime. With the sell out crowd rallying behind the Shamrocks, Brett Logan fired in the tieing goal with 10 seconds left sending the game into overtime. The first overtime period had no goals, the teams were starting to look sluggish, but Raiders goalie Cam Needham came up big with key stops and a little help from the goal posts. The Raiders, who were short benched do to injuries and misconducts, came out with a little more pizazz in the 2nd over time shutting down the Rocks offence allowing some chances at the other end of the rink. A timely penalty to the Raiders with 3:45 left in the 2nd OT looked like the end but Kelownas Captain Kyle Tomiye came up big and scored the winning goal short handed faking out Armstrong goalie Chad Piper and putting it in the top corner.
Scoring for Kelowna was: Scott Mazuren 2g 2a, Geoff Wray 2g 1a Eli Wood-Scowcroft 2g 1a Kyle Tomiye 1g 1a, Darcy Leach 1g Kyle MacLennan 2 a Hao Lieu 2 a Brody Daft 2a

Raiders Roll over Royals
Kelowna Raiders took it to the Vernon Royals last night at Memorial arena and they took it to them hard. The Raiders took full advantage of the Vernon Royals, who had a short bench due to key injuries to some of their star players, coming out of the gate firing on all cylinders jumping to a quick 5-1 lead. The 2nd period brought a little more fight out of the Royals but the Raiders were able to match the intensity and find holes in the Vernon Defence. Kelowna countered with their defensive presence with the return of grizzled vetern Darren Lornson and stellar goaltending from paul Dupuis only allowing 1 goal in the second. Kelowna Offence was able to sneak 5 more in to the Vernon twine ending the 2nd with a 10-2 lead. Vernons short bench finally caught up to them and the Raiders offence took full advantage of that scoring 7 goals from 7 different players in the span of the final 20 minutes while the Royals could only sneak 2 more past Raiders netminder Dupuis. Finals score was the Kelowna Raiders 17 the Vernon Royals 4.
